Who we are and what we do.
Dana's House was founded September 30, 1992 in Dewitt, Arkansas. Since opening our facility, we have been a home for children of all ages who have been taken from their homes due to neglect or abuse. We provide a much needed emergency shelter in Arkansas County and the surrounding area due to the shortage of foster families and lack of nearby facilities to accommodate children, their families, DHS employees, and the courts.

We serve children from the age of thirteen up to twenty-one years old. Our kids come from all over the county and state, with a special priority to kids from Arkansas County, in an effort to maintain family relationships and school attendance. To make placements at our home as successful as possible, we maintain open and frequent communication with caseworker and all parties involved in the children's welfare. We then put our kid's on a path to success through a variety of programs that include:

-
Therapy/Counseling
-
After school tutoring
-
Life preparedness classes
-
Social activities
-
And much more
We provide weekly supervised visitation for family members/friends approved by DHS. Dana's House is monitored by the State of Arkansas and we have been commended for the outstanding service we provide to the children in our care. We strive to make the children in our care feel at home, and as a result, many kids who struggle in large facilities adapt well to the small home away from home care we maintain at Dana's House.
We've served over 500 children placed in foster care since the year 2000.
